Trail Description
About this trail
This singletrack trail is within the 90 acre Kelley Branch Restoration Area, which is closed to off road vehicles. The trail is located in a scenic and rugged portion of the park and takes users through wooded landscapes with steep mounds and bottomland areas. The tread is tight, technical, and challenging due to the terrain. The trail passes by a small waterfall and the site of an old mining bridge.

Review: Another trip today to loop this trail in several laps. Good as ever. Secluded and less frequented even on this holiday weekend. Enjoy the flow on the low portion near the creek...and the punchy climbs on the higher portion near the ATV trail.

Review: I've never ridden outside of Columbia and I'm a beginner. I like this trail because it has good amounts of elevation and I feel like the trail is more compact, flowly, and less rooty than a lot of the trails at Rockbridge. I feel like it's a workout but I find the downhill sections the most enjoyable in Columbia. I usually ride several times and vary the white connector, skills course, and what we call "bonus loop", or the first .75 miles of the trail to vary my ride so it doesn't get redundant. It's my favorite spot, usually free of hikers or other bikers, you just have to get past the occasional atv and fairly consistent gun fire from the nearby range.

Review: A short ride. Intense ups and downs along steep hill sides. Decent trail for locals, but would not seek this trail out unless you are looking for a 30 minute interval ride.

Review: I rode this again yesterday for a change of scenery from my more frequented rockbridge run. The more I ride this trail the more I like it. I did four loops, saw a huge buck and only one other person on the trail. The trail has received recent maintenance which has left some area loose and not quite compacted yet. If you can handle the atv noise and almost constant booming coming from the nearby shooting range the trail itself is enjoyable.

Review: Fast and fun loop that is 2.67 miles long. Good for multiple loops if you are looking for a longer ride. Terrain is beginner level although there are some fairly steep short hills that require a decent level of conditioning.

Review: I'm 57yo, can't see too good, but was able to clean all but two spots on my 2nd lap. I should be able to clean the entire Loop after I ride it enough. It's a solid intermediate trail, maybe a tinch of advanced & lotsa fun too. Hope to frequent this spot for a brief stretch of the legs while traveling through working upstate this summer. You guys did a good job on this build.

Review: This is a great fun trail. It's mostly flowy with lots of roots and a few rocks. Sharp, short climbs and great pump sections along with it being just over two miles make it a great track for multiple laps. Off camber sections towards the end after the waterfalls are the most fun since you can really carry speed through there.

Review: Beautifully narrow single track mostly along the sides of hills with sharp drops right off your pedal. This dirt trail is unique in Columbia with its severe ups and downs which will challenge your ability to sprint climb and turn on a dime. Great for a quick workout since it's only 2.5 miles, or ride it multiple times. Thumbs up!

Review: I have not ridden this trail in about six months, but it seems to be pretty wet and muddy making the fast sections dificult to navigate. When ridden in the counter clockwise direction from the parking area the beginning is almost more bmx-like with short steep bursts of up and down sections. The middle portion of the trail runs along a creek and is flat and flowey...the back half includes some good climbs with fast turns to keep you smiling. Overall though I prefer seveal of the other columbia area trails.

Review: It's a fun short trail. It makes the most of the terrain. Very aerobic, though not very technical.
