Trails are nicely maintained and comfortable fire trails within Tahoe Donner. Do not be fooled by the easy
maps presented, as these rides can get hard in some spots. Combined with altitude and changing weather
conditions, try and always plan ahead. Climb into final portion of Hawk's peak trail is singletrack and technical
and walking may be the best option at high altitude.

Start in Tahoe Donner. Upper Alder Creek Picnic Area is fine or just leave from house if staying in Tahoe
Donner and pick up the route. Ride counter-clockwise. Climb up to Hawk's Peak at 9000ft. Bring wind gear
as it can get cold from the wind and sunglasses. Technical climbing at top of Hawk's Peak on hard rock.
