Review: Park at the ag bypass to avoid the Road section. Decent Trail. Not as nice as Camp Camfield, Fay Pickering or Lakeview in Charleston. But a good trail to mix things up in Central IL.

Review: First of all, you have to ride a mile and a half of chip rock and crushed stone roads to get to the MTB trails, which sucks. I rate that 1 star. It would be better on a gravel bike. The map does show a back parking lot at the end of Ag Trail though, so maybe the locals avoid this boring section? The actual MTB trails wind through a nice forest. Split Rock trail is brutal though. It's poorly designed with a majority of its descents slowed by skinnies or tight turns just when you should be picking up speed. It's all climbing and very little payoff. Zero flow. I rate it 1 star. Boulder Loop on the other hand was fun. Lots of punchy climbs and flows descents. Nothing too taxing or difficult, but lots of fun. I rate it 3.5 stars. Bottom line, drive 20 miles to Camp Camfield, 40 miles to Faye Pickering, or 80 miles to Kickapoo for a more enjoyable ride.

Review: Perfect trail system with 2 great loops. Start off at the ag section and you'll end up at the beginning of each loop. Great trail system and worth the trip. Camp Camfield is just up the road on the Sullivan side of the lake too. Both are diamonds for central Illinois! Bring a helmet and have fun!
