Branching off from the main trail this trail takes you through the open prairie along Fairlawn Rd. and KS-278 down to the inlet of the north cove to Melvern Lake. You will hook back to connect to the main trail. This trail is about 1mile long and is a mowed path through the tall grass.

Getting there
If you are coming from the south , starting at I-35 and US-75 Exit 155. Turn North on US-75 and drive about 8.2 miles to KS-278/W and turn left (west). There is a sign for Drive about 3 miles to the entrance to Eisenhower State Park 29810 S. Fairlawn Rd. and turn left (south) into the park.
This trail is located near the entrance. Turn left (East) on the first road after the guard shack. This will take you to the main road. Turn right (South). Then at the very next road turn left (East). About 1/8 of a mile on the left (North) you will see the parking area and the Trailhead.
