Trail Description
About this trail
This network of trails lies in a mostly forested region of about 15 square miles (about 40 square kilometers). There is maybe 40 km of trail here. The trails are organic, grassy and hard packed. There is one trail you can ride pretty much due north (N-NW mostly) that stays pretty high up on the mountain ridge. Or you can drop off on the mountain slopes and side valleys on either side. Most of the main descents are about 500-1300 feet. It is a mile (1.6 km) climb north from the THD to crest the main ridge that runs north and have access to much of the area from the top. You can also head west from the THD and do a couple of different loops in that general direction.

Review: Rode Chengeltei today (or some of it) on 4/11. It had patches of deep snow on top and was mostly wet elsewhere. It will probably take until May for it to dry out. Still fun and pretty.

Review: The area around the trailhead is a bit chewed up, but once you past these sections, just 200 meters or so, two words best describe these trails -- pristine & fast. The downhills are blazing fast. What a great area to ride, and it's less than 9 miles (14km) from the center of the city.

Review: WOW ! ! ! Beautiful forest with beautiful overlooks. The trails are a mix of ST and two tracks and are mostly organic with roots and rocks mixed in here and there. A few areas can be very rocky. Nothing too technical but A LOT of fun. There is some really good speed to be gained on the long downhills. We rode a couple of days ago, and the wildflowers were prolific and the grasses and forbs were lush, lush green. Lots more exploring to do here. I guess I need to make a project out of it for a little while. Though the area is hilly, it's not as big and demanding as Bodg Uul.
