Trail Description
About this trail
While the Cabra Loop itself is only 4.2M, your journey will be longer as you must ride some portion of the Perimeter Trail to get to it. Once at the loop, it's best done counterclockwise providing a less challenging climb, both technically and aerobically and saving your energy for a wicked downhill. Be prepared for a variety of technical challenges on the way down. The lower portions of the trail were not hit by the great Los Alamos fire and are nice and dark woodsy, and cooler than the exposed areas.

Review: What a fun loop! The 1.5 miles of downhill is consistently entertaining with exposure, rocks, switchbacks, big views, and places where you can really open it up and play chicken with the remaining pines. The downhill leg of the counterclockwise loop also makes a fantastic finish to the Guaje Ridge downhill to wrap up an epic Los Alamos tour!
