Trail Description
About this trail
While there are alternate trails the BRR landcare group are working on rehabilitating the area and creating a proper mountain bike trail. For the moment cyclists are best to stay on the walking trails.

The John Cousins Walking Trail is probably the best section for riding. The surface of the trail is predominantly hard packed dirt though some sections are grass covered and a few corners on the main descent are sandy. The trail is well marked and fairly clear as to where it goes. Be sure to follow this trail in a counter-clockwise direction as this gives you a longer descent and easier climbs.

On the return path you'll be greeted with a sign advertising the Kangaroo Trail, this trail is recent and is marked only by a slashed path through the grass as well as a few posts. You'll not get lost as it is short and stands out from the brush, but it is very rough to ride on. It meets back up with the John Cousins trail about 200 metres past the point you originally departed from.

Review: Give it three stars for the nice view but this is a pretty boring ride as far as the trail goes. Great for beginners but the whole trail is basically like a fire trail with no bumps. Just smooth gravel. The description says that the kangaroo trail bit is really rough to ride on but that's a joke. The trail there is just mowed grass on a smooth field. It feels like you are in an optical illusion on the kangaroo trail because it seems to all be downhill and you are dreading the climb back up, which never seems to come! A good ride for the view or for fitness if you do several loops. And you will definitely see kangaroos! A big mob lives there.

Review: a good trail for beginners, some sandy areas that can be slippery if you don't hit them right. it is a walking track but the down hill parts are fun and the climbs are enjoyable.

Review: This is primarily a walking trail, as such it's not overly great for riding. Some corners on the downhill section are off-camber and sandy. However, if you're willing to explore a bit you can find some good (unauthorised) trails that may challenge you a bit more.
