Trail Description
About this trail
Aside from the many colorful stories (some true) and urban legends about Black Star Canyon and surrounding areas, Black Star is essentially just a fire road up the side of the Santa Ana Mountains. However it does lead to other trails higher up in the mountains.

Review: A simple fire road up with some cool things to see such as a historic indian site, waterfall, and a hidden valley. Take Booby Trap on the way down if you are just going to Beeks Place.

Review: You need to be in good shape to ride this one to the top, but it's rewarding and worth the affort. Even better to ride on a moon lite night.

Review: Nothing too exciting riding-wise but a long fireroad ascent/descent with some single track options near the top. Otherwise, it offers very nice scenery and serves as one of the easier access roads to main divide to explore other trails in the Santa Anas.

Review: Happened upon this trail by accident while I was visiting California. Probably not a good idea if your from Florida and not used to extended climbs. I made it about 3.5 to 4 miles into the climb before I turned around and enjoyed the downhill. It was definitely a workout. Probably a great place to train up your climbing skills.

Review: Good little hill climb that leads to some better trails up off Main Divide. It is the easiest way up to Main Divide and over the Santa Anas. Good trail to take newer riders on who are looking for a little more of a challenge and a good introduction to longer climbs.

Review: As the description says this is a fire road up to the trails you want. But it is a very cool road going through Indian relics, abandoned mine shafts, and waterfalls.
