Mountain Biking Beehive Basin

**   Add a review
#146 of 265 mountain bike trails in Montana
#11,847 in the world

A popular hiking trail leads from the Beehive Basin Trailhead three miles up to a little lake (a tarn) at the base of a jagged ridge in the Gallatin Range. Biking is legal as far as the wilderness boundary. From there it's a 15 minute walk to the lake. The trail is steep in places so you'll do a bit of pushing unless you're very strong. Coming back down is a blast. The scene at the top is stunning alpine with tarn, meadows and jagged peaks.
