The trail at Acadiana Park has been seriously upgraded over the last few years and now features 3.7 miles of tight and woodsy aingletrack. It is located in a nice park on the southeast side of town and is very easy to get to from I-10 or other local roads. For a city like Lafayette that is only 28 feet above sea level
and has very few big hills, Acadiana Park offers some fairly challenging terrain, more hills than you would think, some nice berms, bridges and other obstacles to make your ride both exciting and enjoyable. If you can do two
laps around this trail, you will get a serious workout... if you can do 3-4-5 laps, then you are a far better man than me.
This is the only real mountain bike trail in the area, the other close trail being Comite Park in Baton Rouge... If you live in or close to Lafayete and have not ridden Acadiana Park, you need to take a trip out there very soon... you will be glad you did, and you will be returning there for another ride soon. !!!
