Trail Description
About this trail
Barren River was named by early pioneers for its treeless fields and was actually the historic route for westward traveling pioneers. The open fields were created by Native Americans, who burned sections of woodland, forming grasslands to attract grazing buffalo.

Trails meander through this 10,000 acre wildlife management area. These biking trails will, at times, allow access to the lake and provide beautiful views.

Review: This was a very nice trail. It was very twisty, as the name promises. There were some challenging little bridges and things that looked scary in person, we skipped those. Will save them for when we're more skilled. Well maintained. Will defintely be back another day!

Review: Nice job fitting 3 miles of trail in a small area, This means, of course, it's tight and twisty, thus the name. Reasonably challenging, if you like fast, flowy riding, look elsewhere, otherwise good trail.

Review: Good beginner trail. Pine needle base with small rocks and tight turns. More technical than Mammoth Cave with dips and tight turns, but no real elevation to be gained. Well built bridges. The current direction pin drops you in the Barren County side of the dam. Choose the Oliver campground on The Allen County side and pull into the gravel lot on the right. There you will find the kiosk. Current trail diatance is
