I'm not a huge fan of the Howizter interface so that did taint my experience some what. Unlike the newer cranks out these days the Holzfeller does not have the spindle integrated into the crankarms. Instead they're part of the BB which allows for easy replacement of arms. However this comes at a cost and increases weight.

They're a solid crank that isn't going to break soon but they're heavy and a bit behind the tech of their competition.

    - Stiff and solid
    - Solid construction
    - Crankarms can be replaced separately (spindle is not attached)

    - Finish wears
    - Howizter interface
    - A tad on the heavy side

This crankset isn't the newest iteration of the Holzfeller line (the Holzfeller OCT is), but it's the end-all be-all of indestructible cranksets. The finish on the crankarms is fully intact after many abusive encounters with nasty rocks, and the chainrings themselves are showing very little wear. With the new Holzfeller OCT offering, the old Holzfeller cranksets can be had at serious discounts.
If weight is not a concern, and strength is, look no further than the Truvativ Holzfeller crankset.

    Strength, Durability, Finish
