this is the fork that came on my mid level hardtail. It has held up to a lot of intermediate level trails and a heavy rider. My home trails are extremely rooty, I manage to get through them and the shock has held up. It has not degraded in performance and has required no maintenance. It is not the supple ride of a high end shock, but I ride my local every week and it never causes me trouble.

    Buy something else.

    Pros
    Cheap as dirt

    Cons
Cheap as dirt, poorly designed, snags on rebound, lockout works but that is all. Bought a $3,000 bulls e-bike that came with these shocks in 2018, and ran the serial numbers on the shocks and learned they were built in 2011!!! Shame on Bulls for using old crappy shocks on a $3K bike!

Would recommend spending more money on an air fork instead of buying this, the SR Suntour XCR weighs 500g less for £20 more and The Raidon for £70 more weighs 900g less

    Pros
Affordable, Good Compression and Average Performance

    Cons
Heavy, Coil, Very easy to Break, hard to adjust and bottoms out

This is the fork that came on my Cannondale Trail 5 26" I like the lockout for hill climbs but it's a pretty stiff shock that I don't feel like I'm getting all the travel out of.

    Pros
    Lock Out
    Adjustable

    Cons
    Stiff

This is one of the better forks you will find on the entry level mountain bike out there. With the lock out (though i rerely use it) it make longer commutes a bit easier. And it is also serviceable unlike a lot of the other entry level forks that would come on a bike at this price point.Prosprice
