My old Sidi and Adidas riding shoes died and I needed to get something new. I only bought these shoes because they were the only MTB shoes in my size at the LBS. At least the only performance shoes. The rest were lace up shoes that are meant for casual riding that allow for the user to walk into a coffee shop without clicking and clacking like a roadie.

The first thing that I did, before taking these shoes on a ride, was replace the spikes. The OEM spikes are shallow and all plastic. Any small hike or dab on a rocky section would break the spikes.

The shoe itself is comfortable, true to size, and has proven to do the job. The boa lacing allows me to tighten or loosen the shoe while riding and makes for an easy shoe swap at the trailhead. I've ridden with the shoes very tightly and haven't had any issues with my toes feeling numb. I also found the soles to be nice and stiff, allowing me to stay on the balls of my feel for long periods of time.

I do wonder how these shoes will feel in the Florida summer. I've ridden on muddy days and my socks remained nice and dry. This translates to very little ventilation. Either way, I'm not expecting it to be so hot that it's unbearable. I've ridden in other full leather shoes with little ventilation. This is just a heads up for people that sweat a lot.

Incredible shoes. I say if you want a tough, comfortable all-mountian shoe...seek no further. This is it. Awesome.

very durable. Incredibly comfortable cleat position. very adjustable.

    price: 160 dollars. slightly heavy.

I don't know how they do it, but these shoes stay warm when it's cold out and cool when it's warm out, they're comfy, they have a sleek outsole that keeps them in good shape. Somehow they even shed water pretty well.

Boa ratchet, decent weight, grippy, durable, stiff, cool look, quality velcro, good temperature management, comfy
