Definitely recommended if you don't do too much hiking or need to walk down huge obstacles. The hard plastic soles don't provide much traction. The shoes are light, stiff, cool, and durable. I've ridden them for 4 seasons, and seams are finally starting to unravel.
I've been riding with these shoes for about two years now, and they are still going strong! Easily the best shoe I've ever owned, these were cheap, and yet are very functional and perform well! I've done many a hike-a-bike in them, and was totally cool. Great buy for the $$
