This is a great banger pedal for pioneering and core AM.

    Pros
    Indestructible.
    Seemingly infallible.
    Little maintenance.
    Positive power transfer

    Cons
The "platform" isn't really: it needs to be set higher (which i did with a bit of retro-fit) to be usefull

A solid pedal that looks better with scrapes and cuts. The polymer really protects the pedal well and imprints some cool scratches. Not sure if you can wear cleated spiked shoes due to shape.

    Pros
Much more reliable than candys. Price is fair.

    Cons
There polymer would have a squeak. Although some pistol dry lube after cleaning eliminates that

I use the PD-M545 on my fat bike. They work great for that bike as there are many times I need to wear a heavy winter boot, and with this pedal, I do not need to change them out to do so. They also work fine with my SPD shoes. For the price, they work great.

    Pros
SPD when you want, platform when you don't.
    Price
    Ease of use.

    Cons
    Heavy.

These pedals were great as a first time clipless pedal, but I tore thru them really fast once I was competent enough to handle any real trails. They are not the most comfortable or sturdy.

    Pros
Great for a first time clipless user

    Cons
    - The plastic platform broke very easily once I used them for real trail riding
    - The platform really is not comfortable to pedal on when not using clipless.
