I highly recommend these pedals as an alternative to clip in pedals
Pros These pedals are a great alternative to clip ins. They are designed for downhill racing so you they are designed to hold your foot to the pedal. They have washers under the medal studs however I haven't had a need to remove the washers yet. My feet are stuck like glue to the pedals. The only suggestion I can make to make sure your shoes have a smooth sole on the them. That gives the pedals more surface to grab onto.
Loves these pedals perfect grip and smooth pedaling. I ride in extremely rocky areas and have struck these to all heck and back and they are still going strong.
Keeping in mind these are flat pedals and with that, a bit more weight, the Saint pedals hold up great and take a beating without falling apart. I enjoy the Saint pedals. For ultimate grip go with all pins in, at full lenght!
Pros Adjustable grip by varying the pin height and amount of pins.
Easily serviceable and adjustable.
If you don't mind a couple of extra grams, the new Saint MX80's are a no brainer for the price. Bearings are not sealed but the entire spindle unit is. This is not something to be concerned about as it just makes rebuilding a bit more time consuming.
