I don't have big hands and still love these grips. You don't need big mitts to enjoy the extra cushion these provide. The double locks ensure these stay in place and don't move.
Pros Thick, cushy, grippy. What's not to love. Price is reasonable too. $40 CDN.
These are the best ODI grips out there. In order to get the lock ring onto the grip, place it flat on a table and press firmly. They fit tight and will not move. Easy to remove as well as long as the bolts are loosened.
I have big hands and the thicker size works great, it's all I use.
I got these grips thinking that they would be comparable to odi grips (considering odi manufactures these in NA for race face) in terms of quality and performance. Out of the box they are pretty neat looking. I got mine in blue to match my bike's accents and it looks pretty badass. However, when I tried to install the grips myself, I found the metal lockons did not go in as easily. Finally, had to pry it open just to get it in and even stabbed myself with a screw driver doing this! It is not fun or easy to put on. I've had experience with lizard skins lockons and they were relatively easy to install, which the race face ones were definitely not. Finally to a file to the plastic connector that comes in contact with the lockons, and had better success with it.
Aside from the near fatal hand stabbing when installing these grips--- I also noticed that the lock on tips were quite sensitive! Had to turn my bike over on dirt a few times to install my front tire on the trail and it already has several deep scratches. Less than a month of use and the metal lock ons already look like sh***t.
Overall-- I cannot say I am happy with these grips. Sure they look good but I doubt they will last long. At least, amazon carries the lock on clamps should you ever need to change them in the future. But heck its friggin 12 bukaroos that you don't need to spend if you get better grips that are easier to maintain and last longer.
Pros Pretty colors, extra fat and cushy.
Cons Lock on clamps are super hard to install, tracks dirt when you wipe out.
