Get the new 2017 Firebird if you race enduro, ride all mountain and love descending fast and furious, or need a trail bike to serve double duty as a park bike.

Descends like a bat out of hell as long as you have the fast, wide-open terrain to stretch its long wheelbase and 170mm of front and rear travel. Full carbon frame and DW-Link make this big bike climb like smaller bikes of yesterday.

The Firebird is long (long reach, long wheelbase, 65 degree head angle) which can be a handful in slower terrain (tight and twisty)

All mountain on real mountains. Awesome DH. A very good all day bike on big terrain.

167mm of travel in the rear and 170 in front. Great geometry. Handles anything the mountain will throw at you. DW link helps the bike climb like a goat on technical steep climbs. I still can't get my head around how well this bike climbs technically with so much travel. Low standover height, so you can buy a size larger (better reach and center). I rode several Pivot Mach group bikes of different travels. IMO, none of them compared to the Firebird.

    A little heavy.
