Within one year the brakes totally seized on me. Hayes did give me new brakes under warranty after multiple attempts to fix at the local bike shop. They tend to corrode fast too. I do live near the ocean but store in my garage and there's corrosion all over them. Overall the brakes work pretty good though.

I do not recommend any of the hayes disc brakes. I have blown out 5-6 hayes 9s and 2 of the stroker rydes. but I am pretty brutal on equipment.

a better design and quality over the hayes 9 brakes. decent feel on the levers and fairly easy to work on. decent pad life and no brake squeal.
