    Reviewing FiveTen Kestrel:
    *****

Love them for XC, XXC, enduro, Trail riding, comfortable all day, especially on wet days they don't hold water, rock climbing shoe stability and traction when you have to bail out at speed in a knarly rock garden

    Pros
Stiff, comfortable, outstanding traction, manages temperature extremes well, BOA system is easy to adjust, well made, excellent customer service

    Cons
    Price is up there

    Very Stiff
    Boa system
    Customer support
    Tough

    Cons
Miss the soccer cleats on the toe when running up a soft hikeabike

I was really excited for this shoe to come out, but was sadly disappointed. I love the idea, but it feels tight and not of the comfort that 5.10 is known for.

    Pros
Light, super grip, easy Boa closure, recessed cleat mounts

    Cons
Narrow, tight, lots of hot points

I've only had these for 4 or 5 rides so far, but they have all been in the 20-30 mile range and I'm supper happy with how they have felt and broken in so far. I do feel like the added thickness to the shank may require me to raise my saddle a bit, but that's pretty minor overall. I even dunked them in a creek last weekend and didn't even end up with damp feet.

    Pros
    Easy on/off
    Easy adjustment
    Comfortable
    Grippy
    Water Resistant upper

    Cons
A little heavier than I'd like.
