would recommend to others that are looking for a mid-high level but decently priced brake.

    Pros
great functionality, easy to bleed upon replacing pads

    Cons
carbon brake lever has taken a beating from crashing which I havn't had happen with my elixir 5's.

For the price, pretty decent set-up

    Pros
Unlike the first review, I only pay $22 for pads. If that's stupid expensive I'd like to know what cheap is. Easy to adjust lever.

    Cons
Not sure how long they "should" last, probably depends on how and where you ride, but I get about 500-600 miles on the rear set of pads. Rotors are average. I replaced with a better set already

I feel kinda "meh" overall with these brakes. In 6 months I've worn through the stock pads and needed them bled already. The modulation is sub par and the overall stopping ability of these vs Hayes hydraulic brakes I've used on my other bikes is just not good.

    Pros
-Decent modulation and stopping power (far from exceptional)

    Cons
-came from the factory with air in the system
-had to be re-bled after 6 months of use
    -replacement pads are stupid expensive
    -very hard to bleed
    -noisey rotors

    Hayes, Magura...anything but Avid.

    Pros
    -Pads are easy to change

    Cons
-Harder to bleed than most other brands
-Always have air in them no matter who bleeds them
-Carbon metallic shoes wear down way too fast and the semi metallics are too noisy
    -Avid rotors are too flimsy
