These have a better platform than the Eggbeaters, but it still isn't as solid as a good pair of SPDs - in the end, these are great for rides in mud or if you'll be in and out of the pedals often, but power transfer and reliability don't feel nearly as good as with Shimano's system.

    Pros
Decent platform, easy in and out, great mud clearing

    Cons
Can be hard to tell whether or not the cleat has engaged

I absolutely love these pedals....I dropped my Shimano spds after buying a bike that had these on it...and converted the rest of the fleet....all with CB candy 1...except for the fatty which I put mallets on. They also do well if riding not clipped in on technical spots...you have a slight pad to rest your foot.

    Pros
Lightweight, cheap, durable, sheds mud and snow well.

    Cons
    None

These pedals come with my Trek Fuel EX and I love it. My brother had a shimano and always was suffering with the mud and its complex system. I will be a CB follower!

    Pros
    - Great for beginners
    - Simple system
    - Space for rotation in the knee
    - Zero mud retention

    Cons
    - Clips durability

    Pros
They are a breeze to get in and out of. The platform is just the right size for stability. No adjustment to spring load!

    Cons
Sometimes unclips when I catch a root or rock

For being my first ever pair of clipless pedals, these are awesome! I have never had a problem with them. I have about 400 to 500 miles on them and they are still working flawlessly like they did on their first day out of the package.

I switched to these after using SPDs. I found them to be easier to get in and out of, but I don't come out when I don't want to.

    Pros
Small platform provides extra support, easy in and out. Was able to install the Candy cleats in my previous SPD shoes.

    Cons
The platform detracts from the basic Eggbeaters multiple connection points. Over time, the composite may wear away from contact with rocks, etc.
