Without nit picking, I much prefer these to gels and other alternatives. Easy to consume quickly without fumbling for small pieces in a bag.

The packaging holds two servings and the way it is designed is nice as you can fold it over and stuff it in your pocket for later.

    Yes

    Pros
Gives a little pick me up and helps retain water instead of sweating it all out

    Cons
There is only 1 flavor for the 3x sodium

I use these while hiking and riding because they pack small and don't taste completely aweful like most "excercise" food. The flavors seem to get better the more tired you are but that could have something to do with simply enjoying some sugar and rest ater mashing the pedals.

    Pros
Like a giant gummy bear. Not too sweet to stomach when you are hot and tired. Still enough sugar to give you a boost.

    Cons
Flavors are a bit hit or miss.

These are a good choice for on the trail but id rather go with the PowerBar gusher gummies the taste is much better and the blast of fluid from the center doesn't leave your mouth so dry

    Pros
    small easy to pack,definitely energizing!

    Cons
Weird consistancy in your mouth doesnt go down all that well and the taste is nothing spectacular.

These are nice to mi in on a long day on the bike. They are easy to pop in while riding and taste pretty good too. Almost like candy.

    Pros
Easy to eat, good change in pace from gels and clif bars, caffeine options, taste

    Cons
    sticky

I would definitely recommend Clif Shot Bloks to anyone wishing for a bit more substance than an energy gel.

    Pros
A nice transition between solid food and an energy gel for sure. Energy gels dont seem to fulfill any hunger pains, while these CLIF Shot Bloks definitely feel like you at least put a little something into your hungry belly. They taste great, (I have had Mountain Berry and Citrus) and for $2.00, its not a bad deal every once in awhile.

    Cons
If kept in a hot car, can sort of blend together and not come out as individual blocks, and sort of sticks to the wrapper, but it still tastes the same!

My go-to electrolyte source for longer rides that have sit-down breaks. They taste great and pick you up quickly. They're a bit harder to eat while on the bike without a lot of pre-planning on your part. They can be a bit pricey, but they have two servings compared to just one of the single-serving gels.

    Pros
Easy to eat, easy to absorb. Great tasting and effective!

    Cons
A bit hard to eat while on the go.

give them a try. taste good great if your lapping back to the car (lost two to the ground)and they seem to do what they say they do.

    Pros
taste good and they seemed to work. i did not cramp during or after the ride.

    Cons
cannot reseal the pack, and you cannot rinse off a falling blok. would not recommend if you could not stop.

I haven't tried many concentrated nutrition options but what little experience I have says "Rock the Shot Bloks."

    Pros
Great flavor, like concentrated gatorade. Maybe it was the placebo affect but I felt much less fatigued after trying these during a WORS race.

    Cons
Once you open the package they have the potential to fall out and squish in your pack or pocket.

Great for the heat of the summer.

    Pros
Energy and caffiene. Great for the summer when you sweat a ton because it's packed with sodium and minerals.

    Cons
    Expensive.

These really pack an energy wallup. Tough to chew, but very satisfying even in small doses. Like some have mentioned, these are hard to consume while on the go.

    Pros
    Energy

    Cons
    Expensive

I carry these on longer rides in addition to gels. At high altitude, I usually don't feel like eating 'real' food, but these provide good energy and something to chew on when I take a longer break and get off the bike.

They don't have the immediate kick of energy gels, but they tend to last longer in your system too.

    Pros
    Taste good.
    Longer lasting energy than gels.
    Feel like you're eating something.
    Easy to digest.

    Cons
    Hard to eat while riding.

Good, easy little energy source for when you're feeling weak. Plus, there so damn good. Just don't eat too many.

    Pros
Taste like candy, has caffeine, easy.

    Cons
If you eat too many you'll feel really crappy.
