When new - the CCDB is like riding on a Magic Carpet; it's soooo smooth....it defies description. After 50 hours, you'll hear that telltale "squish" sound of air-oil cavitation and it 's time to have Cane Creek rebuild it. When you see the $175 cost...you'll ditch this shock in place of something more cost-effective. Your alternatives are: Rockshox RT3 Debonair, Fox Racing DPS EVOL and BOS Vipr2....

    Pros
    ~ Creamy and plush
    ~ Climb setting tuning
~ Feels like a coil shock

    Cons
    ~ Heavy
    ~ Frequent service intervals
    ~ Proprietary tools needed
    ~ High cost of ownership
~ NItrogen membrane is Achilles Heel

This is an amazing rear shock for anyone who is a control freak. This shock will do what you want it to. Both on a climb and on a descend.

    Pros
Lighteweight, fully adjustable. Works like a boss! Controls are where they should be, all the dampening circuits do what they claim they do, and are easy enough to adjust. JUST FOLLOW the included guide to get proper results.

    Cons
    None what so ever.
