Great update for basic mechanical disc brakes. Cheap option for an urban bike.

    Pros
-Better performance compared with a mechanical disk brakes
    -Stop power

    Cons
    -Noisy and
-Required frequent bleeding because some air bubbles enter into the system

There really isn't much to Juicy 5's. They're simple, cheap and readily available; however, they are much more difficult to take a good bleed and other Avid products.

Furthermore there isn't much more that makes them better than Juicy 3s.

Save your money and buy different brakes.

    Pros
    - Cheap
    - Simple
    - Pads fit all other Juicy models

    Cons
    - Difficult bleed procedure
    - Poor modulation

These mayhave been nice brakes back in the day but they have been redesigned for GOOD reason. If you can get a pair for super cheap and simply need hydros, go for it. But compared to most every other hydro on the market they are scrap heap material.

    Pros
The do stop better than most mechanical brakes.

    Cons
Noisy, poor modulation, annoying to bleed, overheat easily, and the included rotors provide a ton of harsh feedback through the levers when braking.

"They are better than v-brakes...kinda." Whaaaaaat?! Way better than v-brakes. They stop your wheels with no fuss. I haven't had any noise trouble. They're easy to adjust. Easy to get accustomed too. Highly recommend these.

    Pros
    They work!

If you don't like how they perform after 5 rides... buy different brakes... that's as good as they get.

    Pros
    They're better than v-brakes... kinda.

    Cons
They don't modulate well, they're heavy, they squeal after 15 minutes of use and they are hardly adjustable.

A simple and reliable hydro who's only real weakness is noise. I have really only tried them as an AM or XC brake but heat has not yet been an issue and no fade has been felt.

    Pros
Simple to setup. Minimal further adjustment needed. Easy pad replacement. Reach adjustment.

    Cons
Rotor squeal that will make you grind your teeth. Maybe it's the rotor. Have only tried them on the G2 rotors that come with the brake.

I would recommend them to anyone doing some serious XC. All my confidence are in these brakes when im flying down the hill. For downhill i would recommend "uping your rotors". its a cheap fix.

    Pros
stopping power, these brakes lock up my back tire on a dime. they were realitively cheap($100).

    Cons
No complaints yet, but ive only had them for a couple weeks.

Ok, front brake works just fine. Problem is with the back one. Both myself and the Bike Store bled the thing but i think it has a curse! Ill get to speed on a downhill and when i go to stop... nothing, goes all the way to the handle, i squeeze again and it only has half the power... third time it may grab but who knows. I think its trying to kill me.

    Pros
Good reservoir system, fairly simple. Clean look

    Cons
    Rear brake goes soft intermittently.

These brakes are great for anyone to update to. Particulaly if you have cable operated callipers. They woulk great on 6, 7 or 8" rotors

    Pros
I liked the fact that I could buy this product as a bolt on, allready bled ready to go product. Replacement pads are readliy available and cheap, unlike the Hayes 9`s that these replaced on my bike

    Cons
That they didn`t come standard on my Jamis
