I have this brake on my front brake and is stock from when I bought the bike. The brake is alight and gives good stopping power compared to mech disc brakes, but it's not amazing. When the bike is on a decline, the brake fluid seems to move around somewhere and I have to pull the lever all the way to the bars for the brake to engage, but is fine on flat surfaces. It's not a huge deal, but the brake is not very consistent. Overall, its an alright brake, but Id much rather have a shimano brake set instead.

    Pros
    They are hydraulic brakes
You can do "one finger" braking

    Cons
    Poor modulation
    Not consistent lever feel

You get what you pay for. Juicy 3s are fairly cheap now-a-days but there is a reason. They offer very poor modulation and little power for a hydro brake. Plus they require multiple bleeds in order for them to take and the pads take a much longer period to break in than others.

However once you do get things broken in they work pretty well... granted only for a short period of time. Then you have to go through it all again.

    Pros
    - A step above mech brakes, but just a step
    - Smooth lever
    - Cheap

    Cons
    - Poor modulation
    - Require multiple bleeds for them to take
    - Long break in period

I have these on my Airborne Taka. I have to say, they stop really well with as big and heavy as the Taka is. I'm also using 8" rotors. My only gripe is the reservoir caps leaking and taking the paint off. Of course, this bike sits a lot which is my fault.

    Pros
    Good lever feel
    Stop well
    Price

    Cons
    Not many adjustments
Both of my reservoir caps leak

These are good all around brakes and a good value. I have them on my DJ bike and they stopped great even during the break-in period. Less noise then my hayes brakes.

    Pros
    Good lever feel.
    Good stopping power.
    Good price.
    Easy to service.

    Cons
    No adjustments.

These are some sweet freaking brakes! I have never experienced stopping power like I have with these on my DH big with a pair of big 'ole rotors. These things will bring you down from 45 mph to nothing in no time. When one of my friends jumped on to give my rig a try, he said that he was more afraid of the brakes' stopping power than he was the trail! Once you're used to them, these brakes will rock your stopping world!

    Pros
    Great stopping power

    Cons
    A little noisy

My first hydraulic, these guys have tripled my confidence. I know it is an old chestnut, but better brakes do make you faster. Add the fact that they have been low maintenance and now headache, yeah, I like these bad boys.

    Pros
They keep me from hitting EVERY tree.

    Cons
Either there is a turkey stuck in my rear hub, or these are some noisy brakes.

For entry level I believe these are the right brakes to use. So far very reliable easy to adjust and replace the pads. Long down hills on the brakes. I have not had any problems.

    Cons
    Not adjustable...looking for the upgrade.

    Cons
None so far, had them for the last year
