At least the particular one I've got is pretty good. Up front it's quiet and has great stopping power (203mm variant). Reading the other reviews though I'd not recommend it.

    - Good stopping power
    - Quiet
    - Nice looks

    - Bends easily

This is by far the best of the Avid G series, but unfortunately is very picky about conditions... This is a good stock rotor but I would suggest upgrading to new rotors ASAP. There are many great options available.

    Quite when clean
    Light enough

    Get noisy when dirty...
    Prone to glazing

A superb rotor that will stop you dead in your tracks. When paired with a proven quite brake the discs are silent. I have had great success in terms of noise and performance with Avid Juicy 7's and Shimano SLX brakes. Friends of mine running Elixirs sound like a herd of turkey's coming down the trail. Just some food for thought.

I do agree that they are a bit on the thin side and tend to bend very easily. I haven't found that affects performance or wear but it is something to consider if you're hard on your gear or if you're riding in rough terrain. Extra care during storage should also be taken.

With the release of the new Avid HS1 rotors the G2s do look a little dated. Granted this means that you should be able to find a pair of G2s for even cheaper; which makes them even a better deal!

    - Awesome stopping power
    - Good response
    - Look sleek and unneeded material is cut away
    - Quite

    - A little thin and bend without too much trouble

Not a fan of anything Avid and these rotors are no exception to that. They squeal constantly, are more thin than most other brands' rotors (which equates to faster wear), and because of their lacking thickness, they do not work well with other brands' calipers. Skip these.

    -They stop the bike

    -Noisy as hell
    -Too thin
-Do not work well with any other brands' calipers

    Find a different rotor.

    Great stopping power.

This rotor squeals like a pig when on the rear wheel. Works great on the front wheel. A lot of other owners have reported the same problem to Avid and they say there is nothing wrong with the product. Bike shop owners recomend trying a different rotor.
