I broke my collarbone and needed a way to get some miles in, but didn't want to spend much. This trainer is the cheapest one you can find and it gets the job done. The three levels of resistance are helpful when on a singlespeed/fixed gear bike because the non-adjustable trainers require you to change gears to adjust. It served me well for ~2 months while bones were healing, saw about 1000 miles, and is now loaned to a friend with a broken elbow from a velodrome accident.

Great value (on sale at performance -> $70)

Loud, got noticeably louder after ~600 miles on it. Had to remove safety feature so that it would fit 120mm hubs on a track bike.
