Model/Year: Steelhead

Pros: Very well built
Yakima quality

Cons: I don't like round bar roof racks.
I don't like to remove wheels for transport

Recommendation: OK...I'm getting on my soapbox. I prefer square roof rack bars to round. Anything you attach to a round rack will spin. Also, a square bar is a stronger bar. With that said, Yakima makes great products. I just happen to think that there's no need to remove wheels any longer. There are plenty of wide tray racks that you can put your bike up there without removing anything.

Pros: Easy To Attach To Car, Easy To Secure Bike

Cons: Stiff Wheel Tiedown, Front Skewer Setup Could be Easier

Recommendation: Great value in a Yakima upright bike carrier. While it does take some initial fiddling to get the proper spacing for the quick release, once it is set, the process is quick and secure. If you have disc brakes, be sure to check if this carrier will work with your brake set. If you ride really wide, greater than 2½ in or 6.3 CM, tires, check to make sure your tire will properly seat in the trough. Within these limitations, this is a great choice.
