Model/Year: Gear Clean Brush

Pros: Cheap
Park quality
Nice bristles

Cons: None

Recommendation: It does seem like this would be one of those places where you could find a tool at Harbor Freight for $1 that would work, but it's really not that easy as is the case with most bike tools, they're just a bit odd and must be specialized to work to their full advantage. I've tried toothbrushes, wire brushes, etc. None were cutting it. So, I picked up one of these a few years back and my only regret was that I didn't get it sooner. It's so much easier to clean the cassette with this item. The bristles are the correct length to get in there to get the job done. They're also just the right stiffness to work, but not do any damage. If you clean your bike or ride in muddy conditions, get this tool.

Pros: Sturdy bristles

Recommendation: I've worn out toothbrushes, bottle brushes and household cleaning brushes on my cassette, without getting it clean. So far this has held up well.
