Model/Year: 27.5 / 2018

Pros: Traction Easy tubeless setup Tough sidewalls

Cons: HEAVY Slower rolling

Recommendation: This Maxxis Minion DHR 27.5x2.4" EXO, WT, TLR came stock on my new bike. Have no real complaints about this tire, except maybe weight but you really can't have toughness and light weight together. Tough tire with great grip.

Model/Year: 2017

Pros: Ideal for loose over hard, Durable tread, Tubeless set up easy

Cons: Heavy, Cost

Recommendation: This front tire excels in Co Springs where the terrain is loose granite gravel over hardpack dirt trail. It is a heavy tire and can feel like pushing a plow uphill, but downhill the confidence lets you rip!

Model/Year: 2017

Pros: Great grip, running it on the front, durable

Cons: Price and weight

Recommendation: This is a great tire, I replaced a XKing which was faster but didn't hold up.

Pros: - Terrific grip - Durable

Cons: - Rolls like mud - Heavy on the climb

Recommendation: Not sure the grip on downhill outweighs the sluggishness on climbs.

Model/Year: 2016

Pros: Excellent grip
tubeless
goes well in any conditions
Never had a puncture
All mountain do it all tire

Cons: They aren't the fastest rolling tire but its probably made up for by the extra grip you get out of them.

Recommendation: I have the 29 / 2.35 on the front and rear
Great tire for the descents over wet sketchy rock gardens.
I have them on my hardtail and they really allow you to get into the more technical terrain

Pros: Great grip. Soft but durable compound. Burly AM tire.

Cons: weight and resistance. It's an AM tire tho so pick your poison

Recommendation: i run 2.5" on rear and front and they are noticeably slower but would trade the benefits of braapability any day

Model/Year: 2015

Pros: Sturdy, durable, quality tire. Ran it on the front and rear - prefer it on the front.

Cons: Not the grippiest tire I've owned. Washes out easier than the DHF and HRII

Recommendation: A nice round-edge tire for all mountain that really holds up well despite having tall-ish knobs. Really an any-condition tire for me.

Model/Year: 2016 Minion DHF 2.3

Pros: - shreds all-mountain trails
- builds confidence regardless of conditions
- durable

Cons: - price and weight
- not your fastest roller

Recommendation: Yes, without hesitation. It's a great tire to throw up front on your favorite trail ripper.
