FiveTen Impact 2 Low

September 3, 2017
Model/Year: 2014

Pros: - Excellent protection - Super grip - Durable

Cons: - Heavy - Slow to dry when wet

Recommendation: I've ridden for three seasons on these shoes and they're only now starting to show wear where the rubber bumpers attach to the upper (slight separation). Yes, they are heavy, but when you're riding technical all-mountain trails, that's largely irrelevant. They've saved my toes several times. Great buy!

Model/Year: 2012

Pros: Grip for days.
Excellent protection.

Cons: A little on the heavy side.

Recommendation: This is my third season for my Impacts and they still are going strong. I have Twenty6 Predator pedals that have razor sharp pins, the stealth soles of the Impacts have held up great. Did I mention grip? The grip on these is unbelievable, sometime the grip is too much when you want to shift your foot around on the pedal. So far my 5-10's have held up great and plan on getting some high-tops for DHing.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Grippy, strong, protect your feet

Cons: heavy, wide, hot

Recommendation: Awesome shoes, stick to the pedals and are nice and stiff. They can get pretty hot and feel big and heavy. Its hard to notice until you get them off and put on a regular pair of shoes.

Pros: Very comfortable. Sticks to pedals.

Cons: A bit heavy , but don`t notice after a while into your ride.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: tons of grip, comfortable on DMR Platforms.

Cons: Little heavy and cumbersome to walk around inf off the bike

Recommendation: After better tires these with good platforms has been the best thing for my riding. Gave me a lot more confidence.

Pros: -typical 510 pedal traction
-extra foot protection around the sole area

Cons: -ugly
-slightly heavier than the Freeriders

Recommendation: These were my very first pair of 510s. I couldn't get over how ugly they were but everything else about them was great and typical of 510s.

Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Stickiest rubber ever
Awesome grip
Never slips on the pedals
Seriously, they're sticky.

Cons: Not the coolest looking in my opinion
Can feel clunky, but you get used to it

Recommendation: These are tough, rugged, and kind of big. But they don't move at all on the pedal so you almost feel like you strapped in like a snowboarder. But you can still bail when you need to. Once these wear out (which will probably never happen) I might opt for one of FiveTen's less chunky models.
