Model/Year: Mule NV 2016

Pros: Storage, quality & fit

Cons: none yet

Recommendation: This pack has tons of storage and is great for long rides. It also looks great (pretty much all black). The zippers are high quality and the phone storage is easily accessible from the top and is big enough for my 6

Model/Year: 2014

Pros: Tons of storage, durable, does not move around, carries plenty of water, has a rain cover, has a dedicated spot for cell phone or iPod, zippers are great quality, spot to hang keys.

Cons: Although there is plenty of storage, it would have been nice to have a dedicated tool bag or storage area.

Recommendation: I highly recommend this hydration pack. It has worked great for everything I need and I carry quite a bit of equipment with me for long rides. I have completed a few 6 to 8 hour rides and my back is still dry when I finish up for the day. While riding I honestly forget I'm wearing it.

Model/Year: MULE NV

Pros: Large H2O Volume
Built-in Rain Cover is not bulky and is out of the way when not in use.
Back is designed to help air flow.
Plenty of expandable pockets for longer rides.

Cons: The curve of the back makes it hard to fit other items in the large pocket.
Storage is limited when the water reservoir is full.
Might be to small if you need an additional jacket or change of clothes.

Recommendation: I ride in GA & in the summer, so having lots of water is always good. The backing help with airflow some. So instead of my whole back being sweaty, now it's just the contact points. I would definitely recommend this pack to anyone who isn't doing an all day ride but still wants the space to carry a bunch of H2O and some trail tools.

Model/Year: 2012

Pros: Plenty of storage
Very large reservoir
Built in rain cover

Cons: Can be somewhat difficult to insert the reservoir into the bag. There is very little clearance for it in the reservoir pocket

Recommendation: I have recommended this bag to tons of people. Never thought I'd need the rain cover but when I had a wet weekend race I was so glad it had one.

Model/Year: 2012/2013

Great design
Rain guard is nice in the northwest.

Cons: Sometime full water makes it difficult to pack other items.
Reflective decals wear off easy

Recommendation: Yes, but might want to pick larger depending on needs.

Model/Year: 2010 MULE NV

Pros: -Comfy
-Sufficient amount of space to carry tools and spares
-3 liters of water is a lot
-Can store your helmet in the back compartment
-Soft lined pocket for cell phone or sunglasses

Cons: -Can get bouncy if the straps around your body aren't super tight
-Some of the storage compartments are awkward to access

Recommendation: I only gave it a 4 because some of the compartments are awkward to access and it gets bouncy when not really tight to your body. Otherwise, this is an awesome pack that holds a ton of water and gear.

Pros: Comfortable, tons of storage space, has hidden rain cover, plenty of capacity for longer rides.

Cons: Nothing for me, for races a smaller pack would be better.

Recommendation: Very comfortable, I forget it's even on my back when riding. Never in the way or uncomfortable whether you're speeding along singletrack or hitting jumps and drops. Very good purchase for me.

Pros: 100 oz reservoir, phone compartment, large storage pocket, medium pocket has an organizer in it

Cons: 90 degree on/off bite valve

Recommendation: I really like this pack. The "organizer" in the middle pocket is perfect for holding small tools/parts. The large storage pocket holds a decent amount of stuff also (maybe too much?) I carry bug spray and sunscreen in the open section, makes it easy to get to for re-applying during long rides. My only complaint is the bite valve. The on/off switch seemed cheap and flimsy. I replaced it with an older model bite valve as soon as I got the pack.
