Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Lightweight, responsive, singlespeed specific, sexy

Cons: older EBB was a bit of a pain

Recommendation: Amazing and classic frame if you are wanting a singlespeed. THIS was the bike that I coveted from the very beginning of my reintroduction into mountain biking. When I picked up my frame it came with the original version of the EBB, I did have trouble with it slipping (tried all the remedies) but never had any creaking so that is a win I guess. I upgraded to the EBB II and have not had a problem since. I run it rigid and absolutely love the way it handles.

Model/Year: 2009

Pros: Light, fast, easy to maintain, looks great

Cons: Bottom bracket is tough to get set correctly without a lot of creaking. Expensive frame for only a 2 year warranty

Recommendation: Build one of these if you are wanting a great single speed 29r, this bike rides like a dream even with budget friendly parts.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Solid, colors available, singlespeed, customer service

Cons: Geometry

Recommendation: I test rode this bike at a demo day. It was set up by one of Niner's mechanics who was very helpful, but the bike is just not for me. I rode it for about 6-7 miles and liked the drivetrain and fork, but I could not get past the geometry of the frame. I felt like I was sitting over the front wheel. The fit was just not there. I honestly expected to like it and wanted to because I was considering niner for my next bike, but not any more.
