Model/Year: 2006

Pros: price

Cons: sticky, very low quality fork

Recommendation: this is a great entry level bike for a teenager. I rode mine for a few years, then started mountain biking. I rode it hard. For an entry level bike, this rides like a champ! Eventually I tweaked the frame so it couldn't keep a rear axle straight, but by that time I was ready to move up to a real mountain bike. after 5 years of riding, the paint was still very glossy, and could have passed for a much newer bike if it wasn't for the rock chips.
I also put a hydraulic disc brake on the front that a friend gave me.

Pros: Frame, colors, rack mounts, fit, price, upgradeability.

Cons: Parts are ok but if you plan to ride a lot you should upgrade. After doing so my bike is now the best hardtail I have ever had.

Recommendation: Good value, style, and should last forever if you take care of her!

Pros: I own the 09 model which features a front shock with 4 inches of travel. Everything feels smooth and the bike shifts nicely. The seat is comfy and rides nicely overall.

Cons: Haven't spent much time on trail with it yet so and I haven't found any issues with the bike on roads, so it no cons yet.

Recommendation: I am a beginner and this is the first non wal-mart bike I have owned, huge step up from those types of bikes and well worth the price, I paid 410 for the 09 model and would recommend this bike to other looking to get into the sport or those who just want to dump their wal-mart bikes for one that is actually fun to ride.

Pros: Good frame. Decent tires. Shimano shifters. Good stand over height. Good weight.

Cons: Only 2 inches of travel with limited adjustment starter fork. Shimano cassette with little range. Chain comes off often.

Recommendation: This was my first mountain bike when I started so I am a little biased. It got me through my first year of riding and I tackled some hard trails and had some good times with this hard tail starter bike. It full filled it's purpose and got me addicted to mountain biking before I upgraded to a full suspension, more expensive bike so I guess for the price range, mission accomplished. I still have it and use it for casual greenway rides and tooling around.

Pros: Price is fantastic, Shocks work very well, Handles well on everything

Cons: can't find one

Recommendation: My first mountain bike purchase, and I do not have any complaints. I have ridden some hard single tracks in Georgia, and it has held up to everything. I definitely recommend

Pros: Geometry, fork, seat

Cons: somewhat heavy, not to bad

Recommendation: Good for beginners, and those who don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I ride single track, intermediate to advanced trails, this bike can handle everything I put it through. I paid $300 for this. Well worth it.
