Cons: Can get dirty when when crashing. Can be difficult to install.

Recommendation: They don't move if you install with rubbing alcohol.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Lightweight
Great Grip
Durable

Cons: Could be a bit thicker.

Recommendation: These perform great in all weather conditions and have held up to the abuse I've thrown at them. They give the grip that I need. If they were a bit thicker 5 stars.

Model/Year: 2014

Pros: - light
- variety of colors for the fashion conscious
- shock absorption

Cons: - durability
- "throttle" grip
- customer service
- felt greasy when wet (sweat and water)

Recommendation: The ESI Chunky grips did not live up to expectations. While they offer good shock absorption and a light profile, they did not last a weekend of riding. Unfortunately, the dreaded "throttle" grip reared it's ugly head in the middle of one of the first rides. Durability appeared to be an issue as there was noticeable wear after the first few rides. It may have just been an isolated bad experience and/or installation; but grips are far too important to miss on...

Pros: Easy to install. Shock absorption is good. Price.

Cons: A little slick when when from sweat or rain. Not very durable if grips come in contact with trees.

Model/Year: ESI Extra Chunky MTB Grips

Pros: I have the "Extra Chunky" ones (perfect size). They absorb vibrations extremely well, inexpensive, they do not slip.

Cons: I bought the "Extra Chunky" ones. I just love them. They are the perfect size, they absorb vibrations extremely well, and they do not slip. No more fatigued hands on those long epic rides.
They are a bit troublesome to install because they are a tight fit. I used Windex so that made the installation a bit easier. Once they are on and have dried over night, they will not slip at all, ever!
The hard plastic end caps that come with these are garbage. I bought "Origin8 Rubber Handlebar Bar End Plugs" from Ebay, and they were a perfect replacement for these.

Pros: Comfy
Stays in place

Cons: Not easily removed
Not thick enough

Recommendation: They are great if you don't swap out bars often, need to be thicker though

Pros: simplistic
thick
shock absorbing
does not move or slide around on you

Cons: difficult to remove (also a pro?)

Recommendation: I love these grips! Grippy when wet and they don't slide around on you like most other (non-locking) grips. I had them on my kid's Schwinn 4-Banger & I had to have 'em on my Kona Bear! (I originally had the thinner ESI Racers Edge).
