Bontrager Solstice Helmet

June 23, 2016

Pros: Good helmet that tightens well. Lasts and is a comfortable fit. My action camera works well in it as well.

Cons: The outside plastic looks cheap, and the sizing means that I cannot fit into a small, but medium only just fits me.

Recommendation: Good helmet that is cheap and last well. Not top of the range, but pretty good value for money.

Model/Year: 2015

Pros: Decent look, decently cool, functional adjustable ratchet and easy to deal with straps

Cons: Head-fit is hit or miss, and no matter how tight you ratchet it, it often feels like the helmet is sliding around on your head

Recommendation: An okay starter helmet, but a Giro or Bell might be a better option in terms of overall comfort and fit.

Pros: Price; comfortable I guess?

Cons: Big, bulky, padding mostly just gets in the way, and the sewing at the ends of the fingers came undone pretty quickly

Recommendation: The cheapness of the price is reflected in the product, unfortunately. Fine for what they're made for, which is bike path riding, but they won't last off-road.
