price. good starter bike.I have one as a "rain bike".With TLC in works. If this bike gets you out of the house and you enjoy it, that's all that matters!
very heavy, i.e sturdy. Needs to be adjusted/ tuned-up often.
Lub and tighten EVERYTHING! The bottom-bracket in mine starter to make a "clunk", needed grease.
For the money it's a good "starter bike", but if you are an avid rider you will tire of it quickly.I have a cannondale rise, gary fisher tassajara also. If you don't ride much, the mongoose will do the job, and makes a nice clothes hanger as it sits in you apartment. Before you slap down a couple grand for a nice(entry-level)bike, as I stated, If it get you out of the house and you burn some calories your $300 bucks was well spent! Take some time to learn to do your own adjustments, gears, brakes,...etc.
