Model/Year: 2015, XT M785

Pros: Solid, dependable, easy release, self cleaning, adjustable, compatible with single and multi angle release cleats.

Supportive wide platform resists fatigue.

Cons: Weight, there are lighter pedals, though these are not the heaviest by far.

Recommendation: My go to trail pedal for being clipped in on long rides.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Very reliable clip in & out, adjustable resistance.

Cons: Not quite as good mud clearance as some others. Not as good a platform as some others.

Recommendation: I finally upgraded from my XT pedals that were 20 years old. Amazing I got 20 years out of them. This really speaks to the durability. The new models are great, they have decent mud shedding ability and are very reliable clip in/out. Perfect for xc or trail riding.
