- Lightweight, comfortable
- Semi breathable
- Good protection... while it lasts
- Knee cup broke on a small impact
- Perforated section (near the top) slowly tears over use
- Side protectors required extra stitching
I was very keen to try out a set of new Kali Aazis kneepads. I liked the fact that they were breathable and didn't ever scratch or chafe like my other sets of 'hard' pads.
I loved the feeling of the pads but their function did leave me with a bad taste. The first set I owned cracked when I drove my knee into a berm. Kali willingly replaced them on warranty and I was sent a brand new set. My second set I have now used for a couple of years and am happy to report that it has not reoccurred. However both sets are showing use in other places. First the top part of the perforated upper section (the part you pull to pull them up onto your knee) are starting to tear (at the perforations) and second, both sets needed to have the side protection restitched. Ultiately I am very unimpressed and downright unhappy about spending my hard earned money on them.
I have now moved onto a pair of Race Face Ambush and am more than thrilled with them.
To summarize, don't buy them. And if you already own them, I guess they're good for loaners. That's what I did with mine.
