Kona Tanuki Deluxe

April 29, 2015
Model/Year: Tanuki/2012

Pros: For the price range, you get a lot of goodies that come on high end bikes. But the best is the way it handles. On every terrain.

Cons: Tad on the heavy side, but then again it was affordable. (Kind of.)

Recommendation: My LBS told me that I was riding my Raleigh to hard and that they were sick of fixing it. They suggested that I upgrade to full suspension and reminded me that I was not a motox racer any more. I highly recommend this bike!

Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Versatility, smooth suspension

Cons: None yet

Recommendation: I have had this bike for a couple years now. Rode everything from fast flowy singletrack, steep uphill and downhill, indoor bike park, and towing a child trailer. This bike can handle everything I throw at it.

Cons: Cambiar el cranset

Model/Year: 2011

Pros: Pretty much everything, this thing is awesome!

Cons: 3 chainrings, XC saddle

Recommendation: I just got this bike from the LBS and love it! The suspension has a nice bottomless feel and works great for all-mountain work. The fork is the 302 SoloAir model, which I forgot to put in the description, so it can be adjusted for different styles of riding, along with the shock. The 7 inch rotors are an awesome find in this price range, along with most of the other components. Kona makes great bikes and they back it up with their lifetime warranty on the frame. Can't say enough good things about this bike. The suspension soaks up the bumps and keeps the tires hooked up whether going up or down. Love this thing!
