Model/Year: haymaker 1000/2016

Pros: good start to building a ideal urban/commuter bike. i had to upgrade the wheels and tires though, as the factory rear wheel was badly out of true.

Cons: for the money i can't complain

Recommendation: i highly recommend this bike to heavy users, that need a reliable means of transportation.

Pros: Well equipped for the price. So much so that I bought one for my brother in law too. It's a great entry level or even intermediate level bike.

Cons: the bike is a little heavy. They put the money in the dérailleur, brakes and fork. The wheel sets aren't high end.

Recommendation: It is a very good bike for the money. It is a perfect "introduce your buddy" bike or "I have kids and a limited budget" bike. Since you're buying online there is no service, you'll need to be ready to some minor assembly and repairs.

Model/Year: 2015

Pros: Good frame for the cost

Cons: A little on the heavy side and needed to chase a few of the threaded parts of the frame

Recommendation: Not a bad bike. I bought it as a scratch and dent from BikeIsland.com for a low budget hardtail build. Very few of my components are "stock"

Pros: Fantastic bike for the money. I just got the 2011 Dawes 1500. Great parts specs and super frame with great welds. Freaked me out it was so hi quality for the $

Cons: Nothing I dislike besides the made in china sticker.

Recommendation: This bike rocks and is cheap! Frame is great, good components. Best deal going.

Pros: Good Sturdy bike for the money. Great entry level bike.

Cons: I didn't like the Bear trap pedals. They seem a little on the cheaper side. Same with the forks. Bike requires some assembly.

Recommendation: You can't go wrong with the Dawes Haymaker 1000 for an entry level bike. Sturdy, smooth riding... Shifting is okay. Good disc brakes front and back! And you won't find these components on similar bikes for the price offered... Shipping included!
