Description:
The Triangle's newest trail opened on December 5, 2004 thanks to the hard work of DOMBO (www.dombo-nc.org), Durham and Orange county parks & rec, and other volunteers. Trailhead starts on north side of the parking lot (maps available), first 1/2 mile is winding singletrack to the start of the first loop. There are two easily connectable loops separated by a double track trail. Hard and easy paths indicated by signs throughout the trail. The "hard" trails are so named because of the 10 or more large log crossings. About halfway through, there are some good climbs. The trails are still pretty fresh and off camber in places, but overall there is a good mix of technical winding singletrack and rolling hills. Check it out and tell your friends, the conditions will get much better if we keep riding them the next few months!
