700 Acres in San Antonio, Texas
700 acres has some great technical singletrack. Some obstacles on the trail are: roots, "baby-head" rocks, hills and some jumps. The North end of the trail is posted (No Trespassing Signs), so try and avoid that area unless you are feeling "lucky." The South end of the trail offers more tr...

Bandera State Park in Bandera, Texas
Small texas hill country mesas, viewed through a network of double track gravel road and single track. The Yogi Bear cabins are a fun place to stay if you are doing a several day trip as they are right on the water. Not too much shade on the trails and it gets hott in the summer so come ...

Barton Creek Greenbelt in Austin, Texas
A heavily wooded single track jaunt through the center of Austin. I said out and back but if you pay special attention you can find numerous trails which connect to the trail proper. The more time you spend on the trail the more systems you will find. Take a break at the falls for a swi...

Barton Creek Wilderness Park in Austin, Texas
Editor's note: This is not a legal access to the Barton Creek Greenbelt.

This trail is known in Austin as the Jedi trail. It is fun to take fast and has nothing too technical. The scenery is the best during the spring.

Big Bend State Park in Presidio, Texas
More than 14 miles of jeep roads and some singletrack; a well maintained 35 mile gravel road. The Llano loop is apprpriate for families. The hilly Oso Loop and mesa-top Horse Trap Trail are varied, more difficult and not as well maintained.

Big Cedar Wilderness Trails in Dallas, Texas
Roughly six miles of singletrack loops. White loop is the main, all other loops connect back to the white. Orange loop is
a nice little beginner loop with just enough dips and switchbacks to keep it fun. It's also a great cooldown at the end of
a tough ride.

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda, Texas
This is a rocky 10 plus mile loop in the middle of no where. But it is a great trail where they hold a couple mountain bike races a year. There are pictures and a map and more information on my website www.mtnbikrider.com

Brazos Bend State Park in Richmond, Texas
This trail is mostly made up of a wide, gravel path, some road, but little singletrack. It has nice scenery, and alligator sightings are likely. This ride is very flat and easy (and probably boring for some), but it is great for a family ride, and you get to get out on your bike and see ...

Lift bike over gate and follow the fire-road WSW. Watch for single-track on the right approximately 150 yards from the cattle gaurd. This will come out on the fire road after about 1 1/2 miles. Near the west boundary fence, the fire-road turns north, then east and turns back into singl...

Caprock Canyons Trail System in Quitaque, Texas
Not as good as its sister up the road (Palo Duro) but a fun change. Trails are pretty beaten down by Horses and there are some pretty big drops.

Cedar Hill Park in Cedar Hill, Texas
The trails were fast and full of turns/switchbacks. Although not severely technical, parts of the 12 mile route had some challenging switchbacks amid low-lying, close range cedar trees. It's definately one of the best tracks I've ridden so far in Texas, besides Tyler S.P. One drawback, how...
