8 Mile Loop/ Tr #459 in Hood River, Oregon
Leaving Bottle Prairie this trail heads downhill for a 2.5 mile, very fast singletrack ride through the forest along eightmile cr. Although there is a lot of downed trees in the area I didn’t find any across the trail, but stay alert, its easy to gain a lot of speed on this section. At t...

Blackrock Freeride Trails in Falls City, Oregon
Blackrock is a mountain bike only trail system (with wooden/dirt stunts, but all with bypasses so this is XC, DH, as well as FR friendly!). There's dozens of ways to enjoy 'em depending on what you're up for, however most people use the main fire road to push up to some point (either to "...

Cheadle Lake Trails in Lebanon, Oregon
Cheadle Lake has undergone some recent improvements, and the trails that were until recently clogged with blackberries and assorted brush are now clear and rideable. It's a lot of fun to explore these trails that feel so remote, yet are so close to town!

Crater Rim Trail in Bend, Oregon
Paulina Peak with an elevation of 7,984 feet, is about 4,000 feet higher than the terrain surrounding the volcano. There is a gravel fire road that winds to the top. This is a gruelling climb for someone from New Jersey like me,, an 8000 foot elevation. Air please ! The trail head starts a...

An easy, very fast singletrack trail that follows the river 4 miles to the north. It climbs and drops 200 ft in a couple different places but nothing too demanding. Other than a dozen switchbacks there is nothing technical involved, just a nice ride through he woods.

Hagg Lake in Forest Grove, Oregon
I've only ridden clockwise so far, but have encountered people going the other way. Great singletrack, some short steep climbs, can be slippery, rutty and messy in early spring. Also open to hikers, so watch for peeps!

Hystery in Eugene/lowell, Oregon
This is actually a two trail ride, both sides being 4 miles. I rode the goodman creek trail but it became impassable about 2 miles up due to fallen and uprooted trees. Also, bring some towels/rags to clean up afterwards due to mud. Patterson Trail is 4 miles to the summit and supposed t...

A good ride for a beginer on a Mt. or cross bike. There is some good single track on side trails but most are closed to bikes. The people of Portland make a stink when they find you ridding them so watch out . Fire lane # 1 and # 3 are great down hills but are short. You can shuttle th...
