Frequently Asked Questions

Please read this before attempting to contact us. Your question may be one that is answered below.
  1. I haven't received my password email.

»» Ok, that isn't a question but it is a frequent statement we hear. If you submitted a registration form more than 10 minutes ago and haven't received your password, refresh your email client and check your spam folder. If the email still isn't there, send us an email and we'll try to hook you up (though it may be a day or so before we can reply).

  2. I forgot my password!

»» Also not a question but it's cool - just click here, enter your username and we'll zip you a reminder email!

  3. Why isn't my favorite trail listed on your site?
Why aren't there more trails in my state?

»» All the trails listed on our site are submitted by users just like yourself. If there are trails we don't have on the site, that's because no one submitted them. If you want to see more trails from your state on our site, quit holding out and add them right now!

  4. How can I find out more info on camping/hiking/picnicing in a state park / recreation area mentioned on your site?
How can I make a reservation for activities at a location listed on your site?

»» Singletracks.com is a mountain biking information site. If you read the answer to question #1, you already know that all of our content is submitted by users. Since we are based in Georgia we don't really know much about parks and recreation areas in your state. So you would probably be better off finding the actual park's website rather than ours.

  5. There is an error in one of your trail descriptions and/or the directions.

»» As stated in the previous two answers, all of our content is user generated. This means we have little editorial control over what is submitted and have no way of ensuring its accuracy (beyond the review process). If you do know of an error on a trail information page, please simply click the "Add Review" (preferred) or "Error Correction" link on the left side of the page. Enter the corrected information here so that other users can see your comments.

  6. Can you remove a trail page that has been closed and/or is off limits?

»» We do not generally remove trail pages from the site. Instead, we prefer that amended information be added through the review process as described in the previous question. This way, for those who have ridden this trail, they will be informed of the trail's new status. For those who have never been, they too will realize that the trail is closed. By simply removing the information from the site, no one will know anything (other than the fact that the trail is not listed).

  7. How do I use your "My Singletracks" features?

»» Many people have signed up for this service but some may not know how to use it. Please refer to the instruction pages.

  8. What software did you use to create singletracks?

»» We're so glad you asked! We built everything (except the forums and main blog) from scratch using PHP and MySQL. Yep, it was a ton of work but if you're interested in creating your own consumer review website like singletracks for your niche or industry, please check out Review App.
So, if none of the above answers your question, by all means, please contact us! We would love to hear from you.
