from wtb.com)
Inspired and designed by WTB Pro cross country & downhill racer Mark Weir, the design features a fast-rolling, soil piercing central tread that is ramped for low roll resistance and square-edged for powerful braking. Large transitional openings between knobs channel soil outward, enhancing traction as progressive staggered outside knobs provide maximum support in leans and corners.
* Deep tread
design with large side knobs and a square profile
* Perfect for mud, loose soil and rocky conditions
* Race (735g) and Laser DH (1350g)

| Pros | Long lasting tire. | | Cons | To the guy that said they wear quickly... what do you consider "quickly"? | | Verdict | I put tons of miles on my last set. Been riding ONE SET for 5 years!!! Yeah, they were worn out when I finally replaced them, but they lasted through the tough Arizona terrain like a champ. I race Expert downhill and gave these tires a pounding on my xc bike. |
| Pros | Avail. in 2.5" width | | Cons | Are kinda soft and wear quickly | | Verdict | If you ride in loose dry conditions, a great tire. Not good for wet or muddy conditions though. |

| Pros | Killer grip on loose flat trails and absolutely the best bite in the worst of sandy conditions. | | Cons | Weak side knobs cause a lot of shifting and sideways sliding when riding in hard packed, rocky, and root laden trails, especially when run at low pressures | | Verdict | Overall good tire, but I'd personally spend my money on Velociraptors instead. |

| Pros | Great value - paid $29 per.
Excellent traction in all conditions.
Corner better than anything I've ever ridden.
Can run at higher pressures and still maintain good traction.
They look great and leave cool tracks! :) | | Cons | Load up a bit and get slick in mud or sticky soil.
Wear fast on pavement - not great if you have to ride to the trailhead.
A bit heavy. | | Verdict | Highly recommend for anyone on any budget. These have been the best upgrade I've done to date that has immediately improved my game. They corner and stop so well, I find myself pushing much harder into the corners. If they do break loose, it only takes a minor correction to hook back up and continue - if they don't correct themselves. |

| Pros | Hooks up great in loose/rocks/rooty conditions, good in the wet, clears mud well, 2.5 just barely fits in my Skareb fork, easy to mount on mavic rims | | Cons | none | | Verdict | These are great east-coast tires, I frequently have traction climbing with others have slipped on a root or something. Changed my riding for the good. |
