ProsEverything. What I like best is the comfy ride of the full suspension. After switching from a hardtail, this feels like I am riding a dirtbike that you don't have to pedal.
ConsMounting to a rack if the box of my truck is full.
VerdictGot for a killer $1750. Could not pass up the opportunity. Not one regret, you won't have one either.

ProsThe geometry provides a very gripped ride as you tear down S turns in trails or around on the pavement. The Lockout/pro-pedal featured on the fox triad in the back and the lockout on RL fork in the front is ideal to adjust for the type of riding you are doing. Hence the 'all mountain phrase'. The components work great together, the seat is even okay.
ConsThe tires have worn out on me pretty fast. I've been riding up in the Annadel State Park in Sonoma and the tires have started to lose the bite the came with, but they performed better than I expected after reading other reviews of the bike before I bought mine. The back derailleur hanger is easy to bend if you crash/drop the bike so watch that. Replace the stock grips and your hands won't fatigue on the downhills, I'm still trying to decide if I like click in pedals over platform ones.
VerdictThis bike is great. I got mine for $1800.00 at Sharp Bicycles off on hwy 65. It weighs 28.5 pounds, thats pretty damn light, that combined with the pro-pedal or lockout makes the long climbs easy to push though. The breaks 'gobble' a little bit but they work damn good (huge rotor in the front compared to a lot of other bikes). Seat is super light and not as bad as you would predict on trail. Great for downhills, long xc rides, climbs and descends well, breaks are strong components are solid. X.9 der is great.

ProsBike has great balance and handling, the rest is up to the rider. Components have been carefully selected and is up to par if not better for bikes in its price range 1800-2200.
Cons- I had problems with the front hub within the first month. Not sure what the cause is but side to side play developed. What's worse is SPECIALIZED does not stock parts for warranty replacement, they leave it up to the dealer to fix it and reimburse them. Got it replaced and got rid of the stock wheelset. - Not enough color options, another 500 for the color I want. Because its a different setup :( - If your bike carrier is the kind that hangs in the trunk, or spare tire, you will find it a bit challenging to mount this bike or will cost you an upgrade :))
VerdictIf you are looking at a Specialized bike for XC and can also handle all mountain, some degree of free & down hill, then I suggest you head out to a local dealer and test ride one.

ProsThis bike is light to it's price and you get very good parts list. For $2200 I couldn't find a better bike.
ConsNone found yet.
VerdictI am 6'4" and 255lb. I'm first bike was a FSR XC PRO which I loved. As my skill level went up I found myself finding bigger and badder trails and the XC had too much flex and not enough travel. I have found my bike. This thing climbs like a champ and goes down just as well with zero flex in the frame. I love this thing.

ProsThis bike offers plenty of comfort, but still seems light and agile. I absolutely love the 3 settings on the rear suspension. I use the ProPedal position most as it offers a balance of comfort and responsiveness. This bike is sharp looking too! The frame, color, and components all fit together nicely. I love the carbon accent on the stem and the disc brakes.
ConsIt seems like the front end is a little light, but I've adjusted my riding style to compensate. The 'Open' option on the rear suspension seems a little springy, but I may have some adjustments to make to correct that.
VerdictThis is my dream bike, so I've been loving going out 2 to 3 times a week. It motivates me!

ProsOnce I dialed it in the Fox suspension is a plush ride. The Pro-Pedal Fox Triad shock has a great feel both down hill and climbing. I get no feeling for pedal bob up steep climbs. If you know of a killer down hill and want an even cushier ride, flip the switch to "Full Open" and the ride is like butter! I also love the front Fox forks! From a fork that is basically their entry level suspension fork, the ride has enough adjustability to dial in a great ride! The fit and finish of the bike is quality and the bike has a comfortable feel. It's quick enough response for tight turns and tough enough for a "mild" down hill ride...
ConsWhen I bought the bike, the first items I replaced was the "Rock Solid" seat that gave me "monkey butt" after the first mile! I am not a fan of the low rise bars either. For me, I felt like I was having to lean way to far over the front tire which was uncomfortable for me on down hill descents...
VerdictThis bike has been the best full suspension bike I've ridden (although I'm probably biased after dropping the coin) I have only limited rides on a "beat" Kona and Gary Fisher that was not really set up for my height and weight. I rode a Cannondale Prophet and was kind of wiereded out by the "Lefty" fork. I know these were quality rides, but they didn't fit me. When I rode the Specialized at the LBS, it seemed to fit me like a glove. For the $1800 price tag I bought the bike for, I've not been disappointed. I think if you are serious about a bike that can handle a wide range of riding (climbing as well as mild down hill rides) the Fox suspension and the components included are well worth the price of admission. This bike can take you on an epic ride and not let you down. Great Bike... My final recommendation and most important recommendation is to research and try as many bikes as you can before you drop your dollar on any bike. Once you've set your budget, ride as many bikes in that price that fit your style riding. Your bike should fit like a glove too...
