A little rust after a few years of use.
Review
First set of clipless pedals. Easy to adjust to low tension and dial in as improve/become more comfortable with them.
Pros
Inexpensive yet work like everyone has said. This is my first style pedal like this and they seem to meet my expectations.

Little rust on mine from the water.

I bought these as my first pedals for my Ex8 with the idea I would soon upgrade to a "better" set . I'm not going to fix something that isn't broken . These are my first clipless pedals and I have no reason not to keep them .
Pros
Inexpensive, durable, easy adjustment, longevity, stays clipped in well but releases easily when you need to.
Cons
If you care about a few grams, then weight but those little savings really only help street bikes.
Review
Great pedals for beginners-advanced riders!
Pros
Inexpensive. Work Great. Easy to get used to. Adjustable.

Pros
Price, setup, longevity, they stay clipped when you want and release easliy when you need them to.
Cons
Obviously not as high end as the XTs or XTRs, but they work.

These are the pedal for the budget minded rider that runs clipless. These are Shimano's workhorse pedals. They does as their intended, not fancy or flashy, but get the job done.

Pros
adjustable, cheap, work great, great beginner pedals
Cons
nothing, really (if you need lighter pedals than these you are probably going to get something more expensive anyway)
Review
these are my first (and only) clipless pedals. the adjustable release is awesome - especially if you are just learning to ride clipless pedals. i also bought the removable plastic spd platform things in case i want to ride my bike with normal shoes (not on the trails - the plastic bends too much - but just to get around)
Pros
Inexpensive, durable, easy to use. Great for beginners and more experienced riders.
Cons
None

For the money I think these are the best pedals on the market. I agree with others that they are great because you can beat them up and not worry about having spent a lot of money on them. Very easy to adjust and clip into them.

Pros
Great durability, easily adjustable. Great starter clipless pedals
Cons
I'm loving them, but I guess they are a bit on the heavier side
Review
Great first pedals. Adjust to your comfort level for clipping in and out. Easy to jump right into, takes a beating and keeps on going.
Pros
Sturdy. Cheap. Somewhat adjustable. Rebuildable. Very positive clip-in "feel".
Cons
Heavy. Easily jammed in mud. Clip in/out not as smooth as egg beaters.
Review
Great pedal for value seekers or people looking to get into clipless pedals for the first time. Personal preference is the Egg Beater SL for weight and the engagement/disengagement. Much more sturdy against rock strikes than the Egg Beaters.

I did a lot of reading before getting my first set of clipless, and these by far got the best reviews on most mtb sites.
Pros
Shimano quality
Cons
Could be a little better in a mud situation, although light years ahead of the old 747`s I started out with.
Review
This pedal is a workhorse, you don`t get the "bling" factor with them, but who cares.

These were the first set of clipless pedals I'd bought and I love them. They are easy to get in and out of and they stay clean very well. Great for first time clipless users. One of the best upgrades to my bike so far! I recommend them to anyone who's looking to go clipless.

Pros
Price, ease of use, works as designed, reliable, bullet-proof
Cons
They look low-end
Review
The were the second set of SPD pedals I bought, and now they are on their 3rd bike. They are durable, reliable, and adjustable. They shed mud well and are easy to clean. I've never had a clip-in or -out problem with these pedals. The perfect pedal for beginners or experienced riders on a budget. The SPD design is still one of the best and simplest to use.
Pros
It's a no-frills pedal that performs as advertised. The adjustments were easy to make for the right hold. The price was right too.
Cons
I wasn't able to comfortably ride to the local trail without clipping in.
Review
THis is a great pedal if you want to give a clipless pedal a try. They are durable and easily adjustable. They will not break the bank for the first set either. I know it's a biking
feaux pas to not like clipless pedals, but I don't.
Pros
affordable, ease of use

good basic no frills pedals. slim enough design to be used on a road bike. robust entry level pedal, can bang it up on the trails without worrying about how much you spent on them.
